Where are you getting lucky on St. Patrick’s Day?

Ah its that time of the year again — more and more green creeps in to your wardrobe, you start getting an inexplicable hankering for green beer, and for some odd reason, you begin to speak with an Irish tinge.  Yup, St. Patty’s Day is less than a week away!

Now we all know nearly every Houston area bar and pub will be doing their own version of a St. Patrick’s Day celebration so the options for you to get your luck-of-the-Irish party on is practically endless. Well MyHoustonLife is here to help you sort through the mess and find your way to some of the best St. Patrick’s Day events our city has to offer this weekend!

47th Annual Griff’s St. Patrick’s Festival

Griff’s Shenanigans Cafe and Bar is one of Houston’s oldest bars and when it comes to St. Patty’s Day, well let’s just say they’ve perfected the party over 46 years! The celebration here lasts all week, with a golf tournament, week-long drink specials and St. Patrick’s Day Queen contest. If you’re planning on heading to the Montrose area this weekend, Griff’s is a definite can’t miss. Click here for a full listing of Griff’s St. Patrick’s Day events.

Lucky’s Pub St. Patrick’s Day Festival

If you’re more likely to head to the EADO area this weekend, you can’t help but run into the day-long St. Patrick’s Day block-party hosted by 94.5 The Buzz and Lucky’s Pub (seriously they block off all of the streets in the area). With three stages, 10 bands, 4 DJs and more green beer you can shake a shamrock at, the party at Lucky’s is likely going to be the largest one in Houston.

Doors open at 9 in the morning, there’s no cover until after 5PM and VIP tickets are available at the bar’s site. For a preview of the massive Lucky’s Pub St. Patrick’s Day party, check out our video coverage from a couple years ago below.

Celtic Gardens St. Patrick’s Day in Midtown

One of Houston’s newest pubs, Celtic Gardens, teams up with fellow midtown bars, Pub Fiction and Shot Bar for a three-day event with a crawfish boil, live bands, and of course, green beer. Doors open at 10 in the morning on Friday the 16th. Check the Celtic Gardens Facebook page for more information!

Alright Houston, grab your 4 leaf clovers, dust off the green bowler hat, and get ready to paint the town green this weekend for St. Patrick’s Day! We’ve only listed three of the city’s biggest celebrations but there plenty more going on! Tell us where you plan on going!
